Plastic in clothing is a big challenge. You can help.

One washing can release up to 20 million synthetic micro-plastic fibres to the environment. Thus ordinary everyday washing is a substantial contribution to the plastic soups we find in the marine environment today and it is one of the problems we must solve in order to break the rising curve of marine pollution.

Collaborating with Plastic Soup Foundation in Holland (project originator) and Plastic Pollution Coalition, Plastic Change is a partner on an international campaign by the name of Ocean Clean Wash. Here we ask organizations and companies to sign an agreement on controlling release of plastic from textile washing. As front runners the clothing company G-Star and Danish Fashion Institute have signed an agreement along with more than a hundred organizations world-wide.
